I am not familiar with this type of turtle. It is possible that they are not the type to eat on a daily basis... I would call a veterinarian and ask or go to a pet store and speak with someone who specializes in that field and see what they have to say.
: i care for a 17 year old reeves turtle. he is healthy and active. her tank is kept clean and she has a basking light and room to get out of the water. now the problem.
: she periodicly stops eating and will not eat anything for three to four weeks at a time. she will then start eating again and do so for several weeks. during her fasting times she seems healthy and moves about her tank. i am worried that she may not start eating again one of these times. she gets turtle food and treats like scallops and when she is eating she loves them. when she stops she is not interested. her tank is heated to around 75 degrees. any ideas whats going on here?
