I live in New York, and here, you can pretty much find any kind of animal and in the weirdest places. So, this afternoon while I was doing my Xmas shopping, I was saddened to see that a baby red eared slider hatchling was being sold at my local $.99 cent store! I immediately bought it (for $7.99 plus $2.49 for the food) and took it home. So, I've had this thing for six hours, and I feel like a new mom. I'm worried for it. I've been doing some 'net research on it, and I didn't realize it would take so much care. I was thinking about taking it to the ASPCA, but the earliest I can do so is Tuesday. Until then, it's living in a small plastic "tank" that's given to you when you buy it from one of the vendors. It's visibly restless, and won't eat. I took it out to play but all it wants to do is get away. I'm worried that if I put too much or too little water in the tank or if I don't feed it, it won't make it to Tuesday. Any advice? P.S., I live in an apartment, and do not have a pond near by:)
