I walked out of church with an uneasy feeling last week. More and more, I am hearing SM

subtle remarks that sound a little bigoted to me from those on the altar. Last week, as part of the deacon's homily, he was telling a story about talking with a Christian (although, as a Catholic, we are also considered Christians). He said the man told him he had been "saved" as he found Jesus. The deacon apparently responded, "Found him? Was he lost? Where was he?" and he proceeded to laugh. He was making fun of this person's beliefs and this just didn't sit well with me. How dare he stand up there and make light of someone else's beliefs.

This is not the first time I have heard comments like this from the altar. Not sure if this is my religion, or just this particular parish. I am really disappointed.
