arranging his room similar to the way it is now. I do have some little memory soothers I'll dispense throughout his new days.
I do need to be careful because he has a tendency to get upset if he remembers things he can't immediately access for some time. :( Unfortunately it could break his concentration if he becomes homesick on me! Hubby and I have been making a point to let him know that change into the unknown is sometimes pretty scary, but that sometimes the best things in life come from change! :) We've also let him know that despite some changes that have and will occur in his life, his family loves him and that will never change! ;)

I will be making sure that he sees his old friends from time to time. He has a couple of really close buddies that cannot wait for the first sleepover at our new place! :) Even I'm looking forward to that! :) He is friends with some really great guys.

Thank you for spelling out the idea of asking his teacher to pair him up with another student. It's something I might eventually have thought to do, but I don't know that it would occur to me during the crucial beginning! :O
Thanks again so much for your help, Gengar! :)
