Any tips for smooth transition between not only schools, but districts, too? sm

We will be moving into a different school district by the end of Sept. Trey is very sad to leave his current school and is trying really hard to put on a brave face to make friends in a completely new neighborhood and school. Neither my husband nor Trey handle change very well, so it's going to be a bit of a challenge. The boys are excited about having their own rooms and having a back yard, but other than that, Trey is having a hard time with this transition.

Should I discuss this with his current school counselor? new school counselor? both? The school office already said that there are more steps to transferring into different districts than just within the district. I guess I need to get on the stick and figure things out. Hope this works out for the better. This current school has been a very awesome school, and even I am not thrilled about having to "train" another school, lol.
