summer colds. The timing for this one just couldn't have been worse for him. We're almost ready to line up the play dates with his friends again. :D
LOL, you ARE one mean momma! ;) LOVE it!! :D
I've got a typing CD to build up my typing speed, and it just so happens that they can gear lessons for his age, so that is one project he's working on this summer. He's actually enthused about it, which is nice. I told him that by the time school starts again, he'll be a step ahead of most of his classmates for typing! ;)
We will have to work on his reading, phonics, and spelling skills this summer. The school strongly recommended summer school, but I had a huge problem with the way they were dealing with summer school this year. I just can't justify sending Trey to summer school for OVER 5 HOURS EACH DAY PLUS 2 SATURDAYS for over a month just to get him up to level in reading (he's only a half a level behind). Reading is the ONLY setback he has. I can't comprehend that they are going to make him read for over 5 hours each day. I could better justify it if he were having trouble with other subjects as well and needed all-around tutoring, but I just felt like that was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much to put on someone who already dislikes reading as he does! :O
I've got some other "fillers" for him should he complain toooo vocally about being bored! ;) He's got some other activities to look forward to doing, too, so hopefully I won't hafta dig too deep in the "filler" activities like I did last summer.
LOL, sounds like our boys are set this summer whether they like it or not, huh? ;)
