I didn't hear back from them, but I was reading the chart, too, and he can read all the letters fine.

Hubby and I have been talking this evening, and he kinda brought up a good point. It may be that Trey is not really trying to learn to read, but is learning to memorize instead. He's got inCREDible memory, remembering at 5 fine details of things that happened at 2! He got us on quite a few things. Even now, he brings up things that happened years ago, before Johnathan was even born!
He is fine when he reads something that he's read before, but when he reads something new, it's a huge stumblingblock until he goes through it, even high-frequency words get him every time it is in a new story.

I have a conference with the teacher in the morning. I am hoping that between the two of us, we can brainstorm about something that we can work together to help. She is seeing the EXACT same problems in school that I'm seeing at home, and that is a blessing in a way. Unfortunately, she is just as frustrated as we are in trying to help Trey. Hopefully tomorrow we can come up with some kind of plan of action. Otherwise, I might be homeschooling yet! :)
