SCW Ringside Report for 6/25/09

Posted by Seth Hill on June 26, 2009 at 01:11:08:

Hello SCW fans, and welcome to an extended version of the Ringside Report. I’m hoping you caught my interview with Ricky Ruckus, but I swear I wish they would give somebody else that assignment. I HATE the way Ricky tries to make little jokes and try to act all cool. He’s constantly trying to make cute jokes about my breath stinking when what he’s really smelling is that nappy hair of his. I mean have you seen it? It’s ALWAYS greasy, and I bet he NEVER washes it. I mean that’s all I smell when I’m around him. But enough about the hair, let’s talk about the man. Ricky had one HELL of a match this past Saturday night at the Gordon arena against BW3 and had two of the most impressive moments I’ve ever seen in my time in SCW. The first was Ricky rammed Biff’s head INTO the wall; and after Biff had scaled the outside of the cage Ricky shoved him off and Biff fell 15 feet to the concrete. Ricky kicked out of the “funnel”, and after he hit a bone jarring top rope spine buster, that was all she wrote for BW3. It was an impressive match, and I’m curious to see what’s next for the Champ now that he’s cemented SCW in the Gordon Arena and Madison Indiana, period. I’m sure he’s itching to get in the ring with “Playboy” Mike Trusty, who surprised most when he won the sixth S.T.S. match.

Trusty, who eliminated three out of seven men to win, was to me a surprising win. He was the biggest man in the contest though. But I thought for SURE Chuck McRoberts was going to pull it off when I saw another impressive moment when the “Wild Thing” hit the “steamroller” off the TOP of the cage, but somehow, someway, Trusty kicked out. Then thanks to SWV and a steel chair, which was perfectly legal, The “Playboy” has won the biggest match of the year, and also earned a shot at the Supreme Heavyweight Champion. Last year’s winner, Damien Divine, used his shot to win the title, as did the “Superbeast” Robert Royale did three years ago. Will Trusty be able to follow in those two former champions footsteps and win the title,? Or will he be like the winner two years ago, Nic Noble, who squandered his shot? Only time will tell, but not at least for another three weeks. Trusty is going on a two week vacation, and when he comes back, he is scheduled to face The Dysfunctional Family, Johnny Stratlin and Ricky Ruckus, with his tag team Partner, Sweet William Valentine. This was a match booked by SWV, and he was quick to tell me that and I quote “WHEN Big and Tasty wins, we will have defeated another one of SCW’s legendary teams, adding their name to the LONG lists of teams we have beaten, cementing our legacy as the BEST tag team EVER in Supreme Championship Wrestling.”

Well, even the “Playboy” has went out of town, SWV will be in the house this Saturday night, and he is signed to face “Wild Thing” Chuck McRoberts. The “Wild Thing” is no doubt furious at SWV for costing him the S.T.S. match, and Chuck has said that if it wasn’t for SWV, he would have won the match and the title shot. Chuck says……”Sweet Willy, it’s because of YOU I lost. It’s because of YOU that I ain’t going to get to face Ricky for the Supreme Heavyweight Title, so it’s because of YOU, that this Saturday, we’re going to get WILD!” Unbelievably, there was no response from SWV, but Crystal Lake cleared her mouth long enough to say this.. ”We are not scared of Chuck, Trusty beat him and so can Bill.” Then all I saw was the back of her head, so I assumed that was all she had to say. I can only think of last year’s Ringmaster tournament when Chuck beat both members of B&T two weeks in a row……

Also signed for this week, Tello Oteza will be taking on Madison’s own “The Misfit” Billy Mattern. Now, for what reason Commissioner Beavins signed this match, I’ll never know. It seems like Beavins has been preoccupied with something these past few weeks….could it be the “Superbeast”? Or maybe the feud with A.W.A.? AND he was VERY inconspicuous in his absence this past Saturday for only the BIGGEST show of the year. And maybe that’s why he signed this match. Because if he HAD been there, he would have surely heard Tello’s speech he gave about not being respected lately. And how if he didn’t get respected, he was going to start hurting people. Or when he tried to kill that one guy in the front row. Or later on at intermission when he told Dale Bass, who was announcing the show, that he was going knock out his false teeth and then stomp them into bits if he ever heard Bass mispronounce his name again. Maybe Beavins didn’t know that Tello is just having issues right now, and wouldn’t send Billy to the lions. I mean, he just finished a dog collar match with Roger Blade for Pete’s sake!! I mean we all know how much a Roger Blade match can take out of you! And now Billy, who STILL doesn’t have a win, will face Tello who’s in a permanent bad mood. I shudder. But I asked Billy, about it, and he said “WHAT?? That’s gotta be some kind of mistake…..I gotta go…” I didn’t know what Tello would say, I didn’t dare ask him.

So far those are the only two matches signed so far, and Beavins has not had ANY open door booking meetings like he has before in the past, so I don’t know what else he has planned for this week. But I do know some of the names signed to be there this week are….Eric Draven, Yukon Tom, The Towers of Power, The SCW Tag Team Champions The Commandos, Fudd and Mrs.Fudd, Mr. U.S.A., Roger Blade, Johnny Startlin, and many more!!

ALSO, in the rumor mill, through the grapevine, I hear that the owner of SCW and the powers that be are going to offer Mr.812, Jake Fulton some kind of non-wrestling related job, as to not aggravate his health condition that caused him to say a teary farewell at Surviving the Steel. This could just be a rumor, but I’ll keep you posted as soon as hear anything else.

So be there fans, This Saturday Night, 821 West Main Street in Madison Indiana at the Gordon Arena. 7:30 Bell Time, Supreme Championship Wrestling, you never know what’s going to happen!! That’s all for today, see you guys at RINGSIDE!!!!!
