I'd recommend using the whole 12v wiring loom in the C70 frame. The only slight modification is that the ignition key switch ends up near the headlight rather than in the left side panel, otherwise everything lines up just fine.
I've used a 12v loom in my 1967 CM90 (Chinese 125 fitted) with no real problems. I cut a hole in the plastic headlamp shell to fit the 12v key switch. If you wanted it to look original, just extend the wires down to the side panel area.

The 12v battery carrier fits in the 6v frame ok, and all the mountings for cdi, regulator etc will fit under the 6v shape right hand side panel.

The 6v wiring is very different in most respects (charging and ignition) , so I wouldn't recommend modifying that loom to the 12v system.

Sounds a good project!
PS - We have regular Cub runs organised on the 'other' site at www.cub90.co.uk messageboard if you're interested.
