I don't think you will like my answer at all either.

In Reply to: Good afternoon everyone! I had a lengthy conversation with a good posted by friend the other night. She's a missionary. Please sm on March 18, 2010 at 14:23:01:

I'm not making excuses for myself, just saying maybe I don't understand, because I am not a Christian. However, it makes absolute sense to me the part about She believes that God leads her to people and she really prays ahead of time and if they are open and willing, they will give towards her trip.

However, it seems to me if she really believes that, she can keep that to herself if you are one of the ones she felt God led her to.

Also, telling you the part about non-Christians giving less, and you coming away from the conversation feeling sad.

I almost believe that she is guilt-tripping you here. I'm not saying she does not believe in what she is saying, but to present it that way is, IMO, guilt-tripping you and not the way I would choose to solicit funds, especially from friends. But again, I am not a Christian, so I don't know. Just letting you know what it looks from on the outside.

All you can do is pray about the letter she gave you, talk with your husband and pray together.

At this point, it is no longer about what you want to give or what she wants you to give; it is now between you, your husband, and God.
