I have my reasons for being reserved about watching the movie right now.
While I grew up with those fairy tales, that is one of the reasons they don't dominate or remain prominent in my household (not to mention that I have sons, not daughers, lol, but they don't even get into Peter Pan, for example). My boys know what's out there, but I show them Biblically why I believe whatever I do about them. Ultimately, it will be up to them as individuals and their own convictions what to believe about anything. Just the other day, T12 told me why he had a hard time listening to music that I recommend he listen to and why he enjoyed music that I wished he didn't. I've been where he's at, I know he's not going to see eye-to-eye with me on everything, and I respect that eventually (as I did) that he'll come around and understand the wisdom I try to share with him. I didn't feel like I could talk to my parents then; I pray that he'll continue to feel free to talk to me about whatever is on his mind.
((okay, what'd all that have to do w/ anything?? have no idea...sorry : } guess it's on my heart tonite ))
I agree 1000% that God created something wonderful and expects us to care for it. I also believe mankind is heading down a very wrong path for the future, definitely a future I don't believe God had in mind for us, tho it's foretold years ago. What is that saying, "Whatever you own will eventually own you." What do we do with "perfectly engineered" children when they grow up and end up hating their parents? God must experience sadness as we think we can "improve" on what He is better capable (my opinion, that is) of creating. This is kind of turning into a Twighlight Zone reality, if you ask me.
