I have two boys, ages 16 and 8. DH and I kept putting off one of us (preferably him) getting "fixed." DH would say, "well, you're 42, there's almost NO chance of you getting pregnant anyway." GUESS WHAT??!!

Long story short, I was scared to death when I missed two periods, started feeling sick/tired all the time. I too was living in "nevernever land," refused to buy a test, thinking "hey, maybe it's just early menopause -- period's gonna come ONE OF THESE DAYS." Finally, DH asked me in January "are you pregnant?" I burst into tears. Bought a test which, of course, was positive. Told him I had been scared to tell him (finances, etc.). HOW WERE WE GOING TO DO THIS?

How does my story end? I had a beautiful baby girl on June 28th who is perfect in every way. Her big brothers adore her and she has daddy wrapped around her little finger. It is easy? No. Is she worth it? Yes.

I hope that everything works out for you -- sending you a BIG HUG.

Please, go buy a test. It's really better if you know. I regret not visiting the OB till I was nearly 20 weeks along -- it worked out fine for me luckily but I don't recommend it. You can get tests for $3 or less at Target or Walmart.

Keep us updated!
