Del Monico steak are the same was ribeye. Maybe a little different cut, but tastes the same. Ribeyes here are usually $12.99 lb these days. Last night I bought a Spencer steak for my husband. I didn't look at the weight, but it was two decent sized steaks for $4.50, where that same steak at $12.99/lb would have been at least $15. He is kinda picky about steak - doesn't like strip steaks, sirloin steaks, T-bones. He's a ribeye snob. But he ate every bite of the Spencer steak (we call it sphincter steak just because we're weird like that) and raved about how good it was. If it wasn't good, he'd be sure to say so!
