If you ever need some emergency financial help,

Modest Needs - they give grants (not loans) to people for anything from a utility bill or a car payment you can't make, doctor's bills, whatever else could be considered an immediate need for emergency or near-emergency help (and some other things too).

They get their money mostly from contributions from everyday people and a little from foundations.

You have to fill out an application but it seems to be a fairly quick process. I think they usually pay the bill directly, rather than giving money to the applicant, but I am not sure of all the details.

It's a legititmate organization, not a scam, and I'm just putting it out there for anyone who might find themselves with a need for financial help and nowhere else to turn.
