When she moved out a few years ago, she could understand what she read and could do basic math. She has some other issues, as she has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
I kept my next daughter in school almost until the end of 2nd grade, then brought her home. Today she's 14 and in 8th grade.
My son made it through about 6 months of Kindergarten - they ramped up the paperwork, he refused and the teacher said he "wasn't ready." The school near us is really bad - wish I had known that sooner.
The big thing is to keep them busy. My bunch has Boy and Girl Scouts, church, volunteer work, etc. :-)
