First of all, the whole idea of music being forbidden from the kingdom is just plain silly. Triton may have a valid reason to forbid contact with humans, but banning music is another thing all together. It makes Triton into a great big jerk. Banning music from the ENTIRE kingdom because of his wife's death. I don't buy it.
Also, the new villain was REALLY annoying. If you're going to make a TLM prequel, why create a new villain when you could just bring Ursula back? She DID used to live in the palace, after all.
And in their attempt to give Ariel's sisters personalities they ended up making them into irritating teenage brats. I liked them better when they were just background characters.
I could go on and on, but I think I've said plenty.
