IJLB 2 Dec 57 to Dec 59. Joined 1 R Sussex 1 Jan 60 Holywood NI C Coy. Lumbered for Orderly Room as I had APC 1 (Nat Service leaving. Went to Shorncliffe with Bn and then to Malta promoted Cpl and became HQ Coy Clerk. Managed to get into Recce Pl for Aden. Return to Lydd posted to MT as MT Cpl. Went to Lemgo and went as MT Sgt for C Coy. Then became Pln Sgt in C Coy and went to Ballykinlar as Pl Comd and Tony Talman as my Pl Sgt. Then done 2 years with 5 Queens and came back to Bn at Tidworth as a C sgt. Lumbered again for Families move to Gib and then MT C sgt with no MTO. On return to Catterick promoted to WO II and after a short while became CSM of B Coy with Rod Arnold and TT as CQMS. After Belieze and before fire fighting went to HQ Coy as CSM abd then to Dover. Promoted RSM of 5 Queens. Swopped postings and went to AFCENT(NATO) in holland as the British RSM. Asked for my last year in UK sent to Colchester as standin GSM and then picked up a permanent Staff Job as the Quartermaster of Suffolk Army Cadet Force. From Jun 82 to Sep 2007. Now getting old and crutchy in deepest Suffolk.
