On reading the Getting old theme,Ithought I would
add a my penyworth on the subject, it's titled
"In the Mind" aimed at all Senior citizens.
What are Senior citizens worth?
We are worth a fortune
Silver in our hair, gold in our teeth
Stones in our kidneys, and lead in our feet
Some changes have come into my Life
I now have two genlemen to see me every
morning, Will Power comes to help me out
of bed, then Arthur Rightus shows up and
stays all day,he dos'nt like staying in
one place,so moves from place to place
The vicar called the other day,he said
at your age you should not be thinking of
the here-after,I said I do this all the
time, in the kitchen,in the living room
and the bedroom, I stand and say What am I
here after, I'm old,but not that old,just
a re-cycled teenager
Your birthday cake collapses under the
weight of candles, Every thing hurts, what
does'nt work.does'nt work. The gleam in
your eye,is the sun on your bifocals. You
feel "Morning after"and you have'nt been
anywhere. You get winded playing cards.
Your children begin to look middle-aged
You join a health club,but don't go.
A dripping tap causes an uncontrollable
urge, you know all the answers, but no-one
asks the questions. You need glasses to
find glasses,Your knees buckle but your
belt won't Your back goes out more than
you do. (Just for the Ladies) you put your
bra on back to front,it fits better that
way, Your house is to big, your medicine
chest to small. You sink your teeth into a
steak and they stay there.
Who says age is only in the mind??
Still good to get old though.
