Thank you for your responses. I do have some more exact dates if they are of any help. I know he joined up on 20.5.57 and serves with colours in a rifle company for 2 years, 342 days. He was a reserve from 19.5.60 until 19.5.64. I think he was stationed in Gibralter from 17.12.57 until 17.7.58 when he went to Benghazi. I think he then returned to Gibralter on 17.10.58 and remained there until 19.5.60. I know his service number was 23515387 and I know he passed the unit water duty course in Jan 58. What other information would be helpful for you that I could possibly find out? Thanks again for you help in this and I look forward to hearing from you.

: I am writing to see if anybody on the site has memories of serving with my dad Charlie (Charles Henry) Gander 23515387, during his period of national service from May 57 until May 64 including his time as a reserve. During this time in the rifle company he was stationed in Gibralter from Dec 57 - July 58. He was then in Benghazi in Libya for a few months following a plane crash. He then returned to Gibralter in Oct 58 and remained there until May 1960.
: Unfortunately my dad passed away 12 years ago but my uncle has recently told me about this site. It would be great to hear from anyone who served alongside my dad during their national service.I also have some photos that I could post.
