Reading Teds comments at Hailsham, for my sins I am the parade marshall for our small town of 5000 souls. We are lucky we have our own Royal British Legion Band (who play Sussex by the Sea)but I noticed that this year there were more adults marching than in the 26 years I have lived here. The town Council, RBL Standards, 3 Policeman all the retainded firemen, ROAB and the Suffolk Regt Old Comrades 24 Army Cadets, 20 Air Cadets and some 100 Scouts Guides Cubs and Brownies. There were alot more people around watching as they marched through the town to the church. The churched was packed, in fact I stood up for the service.
Tomorrow at 1100 hrs the RBL members gather on the park opposite our house and set off maroons to mark the start and finish to the two minutes silence. We then come home. I rather like what TT gets upto. It certainly fosters a community spirit(in mores ways than one)
