This is the "Glorious First of June" Parade of 1979 with the 1st Bn. Queens Regiment. The location is Albuhera Bks, Werl, Germany. Charles Joint is OC C Coy. The saluting Officer is the British Ambassador, Sir Oliver Wright GCVO,KCMG,DSC
Sam was one of the many soldiers he spoke to, leaving the Battalion at attention for nearly an hour in burnibg sunshine.
The CO is Lt Col Holman. also in the pic is the Col. of the Regiment, MajGen.Mans CB.
Note = I think Sam got a posting to the 1st, around 1973, after the "Tidworth Troubles" with the black minority at the time.
