About the Job:
We have 4 English language schools in Seoul. We are hiring 2 additional ESL teachers for our Songpa, Seoul location. Our school is small and charming, but rapidly growing in enrollment due to our wonderful ESL teachers. Our goal is to create a very warm and stress - free environment for our teachers so they can focus their positive energy on teaching the children. The management is always very warm and considerate toward the foreign and Korean staff alike. It is a very comfortable environment!
About the Students
The students are very well balanced, fun and eager to learn. We’ve developed an amazing curriculum and environment geared towards letting the children learn through fun and natural activities. Most of the students have exceptionally well developed English conversation skills for their age, which is due to our unique approach. Actually, most of the students compete to be able to “bend the teacher’s ear” the longest with their conversations about any various topics.
About the School and Environment
Our school building is only one year old and is amazingly clean, comfortable and cozy! It has 4 floors with a beautiful roof-top garden. When the weather’s nice, feel free to take the class outside to change the environment. If the class has been really good, save some time for them to play some games in the grass, smell the flowers in the gardens or just admire the fountains and beautiful day. Every Friday is “Activity Day,” which means we either have a birthday party, field trip or song and game contest. We also have an amazing cook who will ensure you eat well everyday!

(B-F are in accordance with the Korean national laws enacted January 1st, 2008 and are the same for all public schools and private language academies in Korea)
There is currently a lot of confusion about the new requirements, so we’d like to explain them in detail below.
First,
Prepare your primary documents.
1) Copy of the front page of your passport (photo and personal information page).
2) 6 passport size photos (you will need 2 when we apply for the visa and the others later).
3) College Diploma (may take a few weeks if you need a new one).
4) Sealed Transcripts (usually takes only a few days).
5) Complete a very simple medical history form (you will later submit this to a Korean hospital during your medical examination, which we can help arrange for you). We will provide you with this form.
6) Background check from your local police authority (ranges from 1 – 30 days). **The criminal background report can be issued by any government police agency, such as: a local city or township, county level, state (provincial) level or even federal (national) level. However, this report MUST be issued from a government agency rather than an online service specializing in employment background checks.
**After you have received your background check you will need to get it notarized to verify its authenticity (this can usually be done at any bank and many post offices or town halls).
Next,
Send your documents and 2 photos to us. (you will not send your passport to us, just the copy). We will apply for your visa in Korea. Once a visa number has been issued, we will send the certificate to your home address. You will need to make arrangements to conduct an in-person interview at the nearest Korean consulate office. You will then need to wait 4 business days for them to complete your visa stamp (to place inside your passport). If you are unable to return to the office, for example if you live very far away you can request for them to send the visa to your house via certified mail (Fed Ex, DHL, etc).
Finally,
We will arrange and pay for your flight to Korea. We will meet you at the airport and make sure you get settled in and well adjusted.
The visa process is much more extensive than it was in the past, so we suggest you start the process ASAP! Besides, you will need these documents for any school in Korea so if you have an interest in working in Korea you might as well get it out of the way as soon as possible.
If you are interested in this position please email us your CV and photo. We are most interested in teachers who will be able to start by the end of February through the first week of March (earlier is better). The new school year will begin March 4th.
